Lion Program

On Tuesday August 9th 2011 Lion Al Peterson was our Lion program.
Lion Al intoduced Irena Humer foreign exchange student from Austria was a guest today. She is staying with Lion Al Peterson for two weeks, then off to Woodland Park to meet up with the rest of the students. She was delightful. Lion Art received a membership key for brining in new members. Lion Leonard informed us that the Fosters Childrens Christmas party is scheduled for December 19.Thank You Lion Al

Board of Directors Meeting

Board of Directors Meeting was held Wednesday July 6,2011 at 6:00 pm at Merlinos Belvedere
Lion Jody Kellough called the meeting to order

Secretary's Report: Lion Ron Smith Minutes of June meeting approved
Applications were presented for approval by the board for two applicatnts sponsored by Lion Bill Jackson. They are Steven R Alvarado and John Jackson. Both were appproved. District 6SE billing statement was received and passed to the club treasurer for payment.

Treasurer's Report: Lion Jon Stone
Club monthly report
Club Check presented
Foundation report
Foundation checks presented
All reports approved.
The full fiscal year financial statements will be reported after the audit committee has finished their audit.
Lion Jon Stone requested a motion to corporate resolutions relating to signatures for the accounts.

President's Report: The next board meetin will be starting at 6:30 pm at the Belvedere. Lions Canin Companions asked for a donation. It was approved for $100.00 Lion Jody requested that a budget be presented for approval at the next board meeting.

1st VP report: Lion Sandy Smith: Lion Sandy has started planning for the membership drive. She is also trying to stay on top of public relations. Lion art suggested that we also use the CC Chamber newsletter as well.

2nd VP report: Lion Allan is on vacation

3rd VP report: Lion Jerry Gill Not present No Report

Unfinished business:
The methos of payment for scholarships was discussed and as soon as Dr. Gooldy is back, Lion Art will speak to him. The "Save Our Library Committee" has only raised $1575, $1000 of which is from the Lions Club. They really need to get going soon.

New Business: A brief discussion followed about how often to meet. and thoughts on the board meeting. We may try to have the board meetin at the regular open meeting time slot for a trial period. Motion carried.
Golf Tournament: Brochures and advertising sponsors will be distributed by the next club meeting.
90th Charter night: The venue and date are set. November 12 at the Abbey. There will be sign up sheets coming soon. Lion Jody will be MC.
Lion Ron asked that the club donate some funds to Caitlyn Adams for a trip to Washington DC for the Congressional Youth Leadership Council group. Motions was mad for $250.00. Motion carried.

6SE Cabinet Meeting

The third 6SE Cabinet meeting was held Saturday March 5,2011 at the Pueblo Christain Activity Center and hosted by the Pueblo Chater Club.
The Pueblo Charter Club treated us to a pancake breakfast of (of course) pancakes, sausage,coffee, and juice. Thanks to Pueblo Charter Club

Web Updates

Dear Lions,
I hope you are finding the our club's blog helpful and informative. I wanted to keep you updated on changes that I am making via the web. Our blog is now accessible through the LionWap.org Website. You can either search our club on the LionWap.org site or type in the following address: http://www.lionwap.org/ccnoonlions. I also recently contacted the LionNet.com Webmaster to have our club's site updated and listed. We should see that update soon.

I also wanted to let you know that I have set up a Canon City Noon Lions Club email account. The email address is: ccnoonlions@gmail.com. Please use this address to send me pictures, information, announcements, etc. that you would like to have posted on the blog. I am happy to do so.
